Body Composition in Babies
This study examines body composition, motor development, and cognitive development in infants from 3 months to 3 years. Participants complete questionnaires, PEAPOD (infant)/ BODPOD (parent/guardian) body composition scans. The goal is to understand how changes in body fat and fat-free mass relate to motor skills and cognitive development in early childhood.
Who
- Children between 3 and 36 months old, can be repeated every 3 months
- The child’s guardian
What
- Guardians will:
- Fill out questionnaires on the child’s developmental milestones
- Undergo a BOD POD assessment
- Children will:
- Play developmental games
- Undergo the PEA POD or BOD POD assessment, dependent on their length and weight
- Every time you complete a visit, you earn $50/hour in the form of an Amazon gift card
When…
- Study visits last 1-2 hours
- You can come as many times as you want (every 3 months) until your child is 36 months
- Fill out the BiBs Participant Interest Form and we will reach out to you
- Scheduling is extremely flexible, and siblings are welcome as well
Where
